Why You Should Have a Smoothie for Breakfast

Nutrition is always changing, and with more research available, we’re able to make more informed decisions about what to eat and when to eat it.

Although opinions will always differ, there is one that I’m always pretty loyal to, and that’s the idea of what to have for breakfast.

When this question comes up, I always like to bring up a few important considerations, the first being digestive health.

Our digestive health is determined by how much hard-to-digest food we have to eat in combination with the types of probiotics, prebiotics, and other types of nutrients we’re taking in.

When a person is always eating animal protein or other hard-to-digest foods, there is an excess amount of energy needed for digestion.

Rather than using this energy for strengthening the immune system, building and repairing muscle, or other important processes, the body is working at full speed to digest the food.

The next thing I like to consider is the nutrient balance of the meal. In my opinion, it’s best to always work toward a well-balanced meal in terms of protein, carbohydrates (including fiber), and fat.

A meal that is too heavy in any of these nutrients or lacking one will often be imbalanced and not optimal. Having a meal that’s balanced in all of these nutrients will promote a consistent rise in blood sugar and help us feel full much longer.

Finally, we want to look at the micronutrient content, including biophotons. Micronutrients include vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals, and biophotons are biological light particles that help the body remain in a state of coherence.

The easiest way to consider all of these aspects and meet each efficiently is to have a well-balanced smoothie that includes a high-quality veggie superfood like Verda Nutrition, which contains vitamins, minerals, probiotics, omega-3 fatty acids, and is a great source of protein and amino acids.

In addition to Verda, I would suggest adding some organic berries, salad greens such as kale or spinach, and finally extra virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil for some high-quality fats.

Starting off your day with this smoothie will ensure optimal digestive health, a high dose of nutrients, and everything the body needs!
